Markham,ON—September 20, 2004— Built in a 25 mm wide 50x50
standard compact housing, the S65 DATASENSOR series offers an extremely versatile
colour sensor that is ideal for all the different applications in industrial
automation. The white light, wide-spectrum LED emission allows the detection
of all the colour tones based on the RGB elaboration of the sensor's received
signal. The S65-V sensor can recognise three different colours, each memorised
in an independent channel. It offers the possibility of setting 10 tolerance
levels and the 'C' (chromaticity) or 'C+I' (chromaticity and intensity) elaboration
algorithm. The 'C' type algorithm is used to obtain a larger field of depth,
or to detect colours on different opaque, shiny or reflecting surfaces. Whereas
the 'C+I' type algorithm offers higher sensitivity towards tone variations,
and is recommended for the detection of different colours on the same type of
material. Like contrast sensors, it will also distinguish grey tones inside
the achromatic area. Each of the 3 channels identifies the colour set and activates
a NPN or PNP output, depending on the model chosen.Several auxiliary functions
of the S65-V sensors include: the timing of the output configurable on six values
(from 0 to 40 ms), keylock possibility and detection synchronisation with external
events using a specific input. The control panel presents two push-buttons for
setting and configuration, output LEDs and a 4-digit display for the sensor
functioning messages. The serial connection supports the command sending and
information feedback in the S65-V versions with RS485 interface. The use versatility,
excellent performances and extremely competitive price make the DATASENSOR S65-V
sensor the most interesting novelty in the colour sensor market. The colour sensor
applications are in continuous growth and cover many diversified industrial
fields:- manufacturing quality control in the plastic material working;- object
orientation according to colour basis in automatic packaging;- register colour
control in printing machines;- object selection on conveyor belts or sorters;-
control of coloured wire cabling in the electronic device assembling;- and so
on . . .
