Markham, Ontario-May 20, 2002-- - Reliable detection in severe, corrosive-type environments is now possible with a new spectrum of proximity, dual-level, and analog sensors available in easy-to-mount, 30mm stainless steel-faced transducer series. The SUPERPROX SM900 ultrasonic stainless steel-faced transducer series provide the uniqueness of quick factory configuarability, broad functionality, sensing ranges up to 1 meter, and the shortest deadbands in the industry.

The sensor's stainless steel housing and stainless steel-faced transducer combine to provide trouble-free sensing for a broad range of applications involving many corrosive chemicals and chemical-based materials. Examples of these include ammonia hydroxide, carbonated beverages, detergents, inks, gasoline, mercury, phosphoric acid, tannic acid, tomato juice and vinegar. In those sensing applications outdoors, these sensors are capable of operating in corrosive-type environments with temperatures as low as -20°C(-4°F).

The Model SM900A-7-STS Series proximity sensors are configurable for sensing applications requiring a simple On/Off no-delay output. A discriminating microprocessor, pushbutton-setup program with background/foreground suppression, enables the sensor to detect only those objects within a set "window". Selections inlcude Normally Open or Normally Closed NPN and PNP outputs; complementary NPN or PNP outputs; and various default window setup limits. The sensors offer a standard response time of 25 ms.

The Model SM902A-7-STS Series sensors can be specifically configured for On/Off latch/alarm, dual set point, or dual alarm output functions for a wide assortment of long-range, noncontact, dual-level control applications. Other selections include a minimum response time of 150 ms; various Normally Open or Closed outputs; and outputs modes for pump-out latch, pump-in latch, alarm and dual set point operations.

The Model SM906A-7-STS Series of level/distance sensors with analog output are available as either 0 to 10 VDC or 4 to 20 mA, directly or inversely proportional. The sensors offer a standard response time of 25 ms and a choice of output states for loss of echo and power-up. A selection of sensing functionality is also available for foreground/background suppression.
